Choose Snow

Welcome to Choose sNOw! Mount Snow’s program for youth currently in grades 6-11 to earn a 2017-2018 Mount Snow Season Pass by attending two substance abuse prevention educational events and performing community service by participating in Green-Up Day. The Choose sNOw program is for any student currently in grades six through eleven.

The first Choose sNOw event will be on Monday, March 6, 2017. Registration will be from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program will begin at 6:00 p.m. This event MUST be attended by both student and a parent or legal guardian-there are no exceptions. We ask that parents and children sit together for the presentation. This event will feature Cara Filler. Cara’s presentation is on traffic safety, risk-taking and peer pressure. Her program is one of the most effective of its kind, and her “Power of Choice” message has reached, touched and inspired millions of young lives in five countries. Described as believable, energetic, funny, straightforward and honest, Cara delivers real-life prevention strategies that work.

The second required event will be on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. Only students are required to attend, but parents are welcome. The guest speaker for the evening is Harriet Turk. For more than 20 years, Harriet has been inspiring teens and adults to discover their true identities and pursue a life of substance. She has worked as a probation officer, youth programs coordinator, flight attendant, pharmaceutical sales rep, college-level instructor, and nationally-known professional speaker, trainer, and consultant—proving you can do ANYTHING. Harriet believes we can do great things if we are willing to be true to our dreams and ourselves. Harriet’s life experiences have taught her that success and happiness come from celebrating who you are and pursuing a life that honors your strengths and abilities. Her message is authentic, relatable, and compelling.

A make-up date will be held in May at the Twin Valley Middle High School for participants that are not able to attend the second March presentation. You must contact Cindy Hayford at to register for this presentation. All educational presentations are sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Community Partnership in collaboration with Mount Snow.

Once the student has completed both educational events and participation in Green-Up Day, they will receive a 2017-18 Mount Snow Season Pass valued at $700. All passes will be mailed to the students in fall 2017.

To take advantage of the Choose sNOw program, all students MUST register in advance & pay a fee of $50.

Registration has filled for this year. Thank you.
