Hi Team!

Last weekend of SoVT comps is behind us and what a great time it was! Two Slopestyles on Friday and Saturday followed up by a double Halfpipe on Sunday complete with a grill party at the bottom of the pipe. Starting with our Ruggies, Everett Barnes and future MSTC athlete Jax Cataudo both grabbed a silver medal in halfpipe. Jack O’Keefe took home a Gold Medal in both Halfpipe and Slope as well as receiving a hard charger award on day two of slope. For our Groms, Austin Cataudo took home 2 Golds in Slope also receiving the hard charger award then a bronze and a silver in halfpipe. Sadie McKinlay grabbed a Gold and a Silver in Slope then 2 silvers in halfpipe for the Menehunes. In the Breaker division we has Robbie Raimos with a Bronze in Slope, then Anthony Demartino and Breck Bensin each grabbed a Bronze in Halfpipe. For Youth Men we had Tucker Baribault with a Gold and a Silver in Halfpipe. Then in Junior Men, Zack Savage took a Silver and Gold from Slope following it with 2 Golds in Halfpipe.

This Saturday 3/7 is our 2020 MSTC Launch Party! Join us for a fun night to help support our athletes attending USASA Nationals. There will be a Prize Raffle, Fun Games, Food, Music and a whole list of fun activities planned for the evening. $10 at the door, kids are free. Party time is from 6pm-9pm. See you all there!

Next weekend is the Vermont Open at Stratton. Please let me know if your athlete is signed up for this event.

For athletes attending Nationals extra training is a great way to get prepared for our trip to Colorado. Extra training is available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This is extra training and can be purchased for $70 a day. 6 and 12 packs are also available for $350 and $650. Please RSVP with Nancy and I at least 2 days ahead of time by emailing nlogan@mountsnow.com and ttwelves@mountsnow.com . Start times are directly associated with mountain operation times. For example, if it’s a holiday week and the lifts are spinning at 8am then we will stick to our normal drop off schedule at 8:15am. On normal midweek days the lifts don’t spin until 9am, therefore we run on a 1 hour delay, meaning drop off is at 9:15am. Pick up times are based upon participation and those times will be relayed to parents and athletes morning of at drop off. Special circumstances may cause for cancelations or delays in which case this information will be relayed as soon as possible via email to those who sign up ahead of time.

We will be doing Nationals group training the weekend of 3/21 and 3/22. For this weekend athletes attending nationals should come with a bag for the day just as they would at copper. Their bag should have plenty of water and snacks/lunch for the day, sunscreen, as well as other things they may need such as spare layers, googles, mittens, etc.

As always feel free to email me at ttwelves@mountsnow.com if you have any questions or concerns.

I really appreciate your time,

Tobin Twelves

Head Snowboard Coach
