Hi Team!

It was a great weekend of racing boardercross at Stratton! Even with tough racing and some crashes we still had a few athletes bring home new hardware! Sadie McKinlay took gold on both days in the Menehune division. Then, on day two, Jack O’Keefe took 1st in the Ruggie division. We are extremely proud of all of our athletes for giving it their all out there this weekend.

Clear your calendars people! Saturday March 7th will be the biggest party of the season! Join us at the ski club to raise money and support our snowboard and freeski athletes attending nationals. We are putting together a raffle in addition to a lot of fun activities to help raise the funds. If every parent could please reach out to their connections and find at least one Item that we could use for the raffle or a silent auction that would be greatly appreciated. Also if there is anyone who has connections for beverages, both adult and kid friendly, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Please email me at if you have anything to offer. Spread the word on this for all are welcome! More details on this event coming soon!

This weekend is double Halfpipe at Okemo on Saturday 2/8. Okemo has announced that they will be building a 14ft pipe so this event is a definite. Extra training this Friday 2/7 will be at Okemo for Halfpipe training. Sign ups for this training Friday is now closed. We will meet upstairs in the clocktower base lodge at 8:30am on snow by 9am. We will end our day around 3pm.

This Thursday 1/30 and next Monday 2/3 extra training will be at Mount Snow as usual. Extra training time is a great way to get a leg up in our series and is highly recommended to our more competitive athletes. Extra training is available on most Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This is extra training and can be purchased for $70 a day. 6 and 12 packs are also available for $350 and $650. Please RSVP with Nancy and I at least 2 days ahead of time by emailing and . Start times are directly associated with mountain operation times. For example, if it’s a holiday week and the lifts are spinning at 8am then we will stick to our normal drop off schedule. On normal midweek days the lifts don’t spin until 9am, therefore we run on a 1 hour delay, meaning drop off is at 9:15am. Pick up times are based upon participation and those times will be relayed to parents and athletes morning of at drop off. Special circumstances may cause for cancelations and delays in which case this information will be relayed as soon as possible via email.

The Mount Snow halfpipe is finished and turned out to be really cool. They went with a Hybrid Super/Mini pipe and it’s not only really fun to ride but it is also still usable to train for the super pipe at nationals. This is exciting for us as coaches and we can’t wait to see our athletes progressing in the pipe.

I created a list of out of series SS and BX events for those athletes that need points for nationals and missed out on some of the full SVS events. Please keep me in the loop about which events your athlete will be competing in. If we have 3 or more athletes competing in an out of series event then we will be able to justify providing coaching. Certain events that are further away and multiple days may require parents to cover lodging fees for the coaches. This list is attached in this week’s email.

As always feel free to email me at if you have any questions or concerns.

I really appreciate your time,

Tobin Twelves
