Hi Team!

The Team Anorak Windbreakers are still available to order via this link. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JUYr-ynJ1YSumboR9Kwhac69Y2BG8P69WYpY4VTdtGI/edit?usp=sharing

They will have a Carinthia C on the chest and will say M*S*T*C on the back.

Orders will be open through this Friday 1/17 so get them in ASAP.

Boarder Cross at Stratton was a blast! The course was short, fast and fun! All of our athletes that participated did great and we even had a few podiums! In the Ruggie boys division we had Jack O’Keefe take first and Everett Barnes right behind him in second. Elleana Sisk Brought home two gold medals from the weekend in the Grommet girls’ division. In Grommet boys Austin Cataudo battled hard both days, taking third on day one and bringing home the gold in first on day two. For the Menehune’s’ we had Sadie McKinlay bring home the gold in the girls’ division then Wade Barnes took home a silver medal in the boys’ division. Make sure to congratulate them on their new hardware!

We are having a Nationals Meeting in the ski club this Saturday 1/18 at 3pm. This is for anybody who thinks their athlete will be attending USASA Nationals this year. We will be discussing potentially going out to Colorado early this year in order to give athletes more time to acclimate by allowing for extra training time at altitude. I can also address any questions anyone has about nationals if this will be your first year attending.

This Thursday 1/16, Friday 1/17 and next Monday 1/20 extra training will be at Mount Snow as usual. Extra training time is a great way to get a leg up in our series and is highly recommended to our more competitive athletes. Extra training is available on most Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. This is extra training and can be purchased for $70 a day. 6 and 12 packs are also available for $350 and $650. Please RSVP with Nancy and I at least 2 days ahead of time by emailing nlogan@mountsnow.com and ttwelves@mountsnow.com . Start times are directly associated with mountain operation times. For example, if it’s a holiday week and the lifts are spinning at 8am then we will stick to our normal drop off schedule. On normal midweek days the lifts don’t spin until 9am, therefore we run on a 1 hour delay, meaning drop off is at 9:15am. Pick up times are based upon participation and those times will be relayed to parents and athletes morning of at drop off. Special circumstances may cause for cancelations and delays in which case this information will be relayed as soon as possible via email.

Friday we have a couple athletes interested in the GS and Slalom races at Bromley. We will be providing coaching for this event so if there are others interested then please let me know.

This weekend we have a Rail Jam at Stratton on Sunday. As stated above you can still consult the previous groupings competition schedule to have an idea of whether your athlete(s) is ready to participate. Also feel free to talk to your athlete’s coach about it over the weekend. As usual all of the important event info will be on the Team App.

Next weekend is the Mount Snow Slopestyle. Unfortunately all 3 days of this event are sold out as well. Same goes as for the boarder cross, there will be a small amount of no shows but there will be a much larger amount of people trying to get in day of so be sure and get there extra early to be on the waitlist. Those athletes who aren’t able to participate will still be able to see what it’s all about because the groups training that day will definitely be stopping by the course to support their team.

The following weekend 2/1 &2/2 is Boarder Cross at Stratton. These events are sold out as well so the same applies for day of sign ups as usual. We can discuss what out of series events work for everyone at the nationals meeting so that those attending nationals can have enough points to qualify. For now be sure you are signed up for any and all SoVT events you wish to attend.

The weekend after that is Halfpipe at Okemo on Saturday 2/8. It is still unclear when Okemo will have their halfpipe done, but as soon as we know there will be a pipe training schedule implemented. That Sunday will be a Rail Jam at Mount Snow. I’m sure this will sell out as well so be sure to sign up ASAP!

As always feel free to email me at ttwelves@mountsnow.com if you have any questions or concerns.

I really appreciate your time,

Tobin Twelves

Head Snowboard Coach
