Snowboard Comp 12.7-12.8.19
Saturday, December 7, 2019
Hello awesome athletes and amazing parents!
Welcome back to the MSTC Snowboard Team! With almost 2ft of fresh snow and more coming you can expect some awesome conditions! First weekend of programs is coming fast, the Competition Program starts this weekend December 7th and 8th. The Development Program will start next weekend December 14th and 15th.
Comp meeting time is 8:45am on snow in between the clock tower and cape-house. On the lift by 9.00.
Please make sure your athletes are ready to go for the season. I’d recommend getting their gear ready today to make sure everything fits and is in good condition. This way you’ll have a few days to get what they need. If you plan to use the same equipment as last season, your board should be tuned and waxed and you should double check that all of your binding parts are tight and that they are properly fastened to your snowboard.
Make sure they have their season pass AND that they have the snowboard sticker from Nancy on the back. Her office will be very busy this weekend so be sure to show up early if you have not done this.
First weekend of programs you can expect a whole lot of FUN! We will be easing back into things, re-introducing our warm ups and getting everybody back on their snowboard feet for the season. We will begin placing athletes into groups based on their riding ability and goals for the season.
I ask that you please send me an email (email@example.com) before this weekend containing your athletes name, age, and goals for the season. Also include your competition commitment for the season. For example, only participating in events at Mount Snow during program days or if you’re willing to travel to all Southern Vermont events. This Includes Stratton, Bromley, and Okemo. If you intend to qualify for and attend USASA Nationals please include that as well.
Extra Training is a great way to get ahead of the curve and will be available most Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. This is EXTRA training and can be purchased for $70 per day. 6 and 12 day packs are also available for $350 and $650. Please sign up for these at least two days ahead of time by emailing Nancy and I (firstname.lastname@example.org & email@example.com).
Make sure your USASA memberships are up to date. Event registration is live for all events including the Mount Snow slopestyle events. As we all know, registration usually fills up for the Mount Snow slopestyle so if you attended last year or plan to this year go ahead and get signed up ASAP. The Team APP is again where you will find all of the start lists and event schedules for the USASA Southern Vermont series for the season. If you have an athlete competing please have this app downloaded. It also informs us of last minute event changes so it is a must have!
The Snowboard Team party will be next Saturday December 21th in the ski club. There will be more details in next week’s blog.
As always feel free to email me with any questions or if you are unsure about anything at all. I hope you all had a great summer and are glad to be back on snow for the 19/20 season. Mother Nature has been kind so far and we can’t wait to see what comes next!
I really appreciate your time,
