Weekend Terrain Expansion: Sunbrook and Nitro

Thursday, December 15, 2016

We’ve got big things ahead for the weekend.

First and foremost, we started off this week with a sizeable winter storm that dropped nearly a foot of powder on the resort, allowing us to open 10 news trails and 96 additional acres on Monday. We’re currently at 39 trails with 271 acres, but that is about to get a big boost after the prep work our snowmaking, grooming, and Carinthia Parks crew have accomplished this week.

From a terrain standpoint, this weekend will see the opening of our Sunbrook area, and with it will come additional trails, acreage, and the first time this season we will have all four mountain faces open for skiing and riding. Head over there on Saturday and Sunday for some sunny south-facing laps.

Over at Carinthia, the Nitro terrain park will be open for the season full of new and innovative jumps, hips, and features, such as the  Wind Chime that the crew made this fall.

Back in the main base area, we’ll also be opening up our tubing hill for the first time this winter, which is always a fun family favorite! Speaking of family activities, Saturday we will host our 6th Annual Mount Snow Film Fest  in the Sundance Lodge, full of movie premieres, raffles, and giveaways!

Keep an eye on the snow report for updates on trail and lift openings as we plan on opening additional terrain in the run-up to the holiday season.

See you on the slopes!
