What Are You Thankful For?

Thanksgiving is upon us once again, and it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that this year we’re thankful for our new snowmaking system and the amazing early season experiences it has provided for our guests.

After a spectacular opening week that saw Mount Snow play host to the most open terrain in the East, we’ve decided to give you all even more! So, our snowmakers will be putting the most powerful snowmaking system in the East to the test, with the most ambitions five-day snowmaking plan we’ve ever undertaken. The goal will be to add seven new trails by Thursday, and another five by Saturday, with the plan being to get us to 200+ acres and 20+ trails open for skiing and riding by Thanksgiving weekend!

Trails planned for Thursday include Snowdance, N.E. Time, Ridge, Upper Exhibition, Lower Exhibition, Lodge, and Inferno. Plummet, Chute, Prospector, Nitro, and Mineshaft are planned to open by next Saturday. Please keep an eye on the snow report for the most up-to-date plans and trail opening announcements.

In addition to the planned trail openings, we’ve got a couple of great events to help kick off our award-winning winter events series here at the mountain.

It all gets going on Friday, November 24 th with our annual Turkey Hangover Hillclimb , giving you a chance to burn off some of those turkey day calories and get your legs in shape for a great winter of skiing. This year there will be prizes for top finishers, as well as for the best costumes, so it’s time to get creative.

Then, join us on Saturday, November 25 th for our first Torchlight Parade and Fireworks , along with a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Meet us at the bottom of Canyon and watch as our  Mount Snow Ski & Snowboard School instructors descend the trail in a beautiful torchlight glow. Immediately following we’ll light up the sky with a huge fireworks display, and then be sure to join us in the base lodge to get your holiday photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

This year, leave the cooking to us while you enjoy a day on the slopes with your family by ordering your Thanksgiving Feasts To Go ! Spend the morning skiing and riding, and then simply pick up your dinner complete with all your favorite fixings, whenever you’re ready!

No matter what you’re thankful for this year, if you see a snowmaker or groomer on the hill or finishing up a shift, please take a moment and thank them for all the hard work they’ve put in so far this season. It just wouldn’t be the same without them.

Happy Thanksgiving!
