Rock the Roots: An FAQ

With the Angry Orchard: Rock the Roots Tour just around the corner, we wanted to put together FAQ for all of you who may be new to Mount Snow or might be new to our festivals.

We can’t wait to see you all on July 7th for the party of the summer! 

Q: Got the hook up on those set times? 

A: You know it! 

  • VIP BBQ begins- 12:30 p.m. 
  • Doors Open - 2 p.m. 
  • Matisyahu - 2:30 p.m. 
  • Pepper - 4 p.m. 
  • Lupe Fiasco - 5:30 p.m. 
  • Dirty Heads - 7 p.m. 
  • Sublime w/ Rome - 9:30 p.m.  

Q: Where can I purchase tickets?

Q: Where do I stay?

A: We have a variety of lodging options available at:


Q: Will there be anything other than cider?

A: Yes, along with great cider offerings from Angry Orchard, we will have beer options from Samuel Adams and spiked seltzer from Truly Spiked & Sparkling water.  There will not be a full bar service.


Q:  What time is last call?

A:  Last call for alcohol & food will be at 10:15pm, with all sales ending at 10:30pm


Q: Can I bring my kids and/or pets?

A: Sorry, but you’re going to have to get a sitter because the kids and pets have to stay at home as this event is 21+.


Q: What kind of identification will I need?

A: Please bring with you a valid government-issued form of identification. We will be IDing everyone regardless of age.


Q: Where is the venue?

A: The show will take place right in the heart of our Main Base Area in the same place we had the Minus Zero Festival in April.


Q: Can I enter at any time?

A: The doors open at 2 p.m., with entry open until 8 p.m. There will be no entry after 8 p.m.


Q: Can I leave the venue and re-enter?

A: Nope – due to 101 reasons (which we are not going to list) we have a single-entry policy at all festival locations. BUT not to worry, we have everything here you can possibly need; music, food, hard cider, bathrooms, ATM's....did we mention hard cider?

Q: What can I bring with me?

A: If you can’t bring it on a plane, you can’t bring it in here. Additionally BYOB, coolers, outside food, or weapons will not be allowed.


Q: Can I bring a Camelbak or water bottle ?

A: Yes, but they must be empty upon entering the venue. We will have a free water station inside the venue for you to fill up throughout the day. 


Q: Can I charge my phone in the venue?

A: We will not have anywhere to charge your phone, so please remember to charge it before you show up.


Q: Can I smoke in the venue?

A: Yes, but you must be at least 25 feet from a building. Or, take this as a wakeup that it’s time to quit, details and help at


Q: I heard that cannabis is legal in Vermont as of July 1st? What does that mean for me?

A: While Vermont has legalized cannabis for recreational use as of July 1 st , 2018, it is still not legal to use cannabis in public places such as Mount Snow, so please leave it at home!


Q: Can I bring chairs, sunshades, or popup tents?

A: Feel free to bring your small chairs, but please leave any tents, umbrellas, or sunshades at home.


Q: Can I purchase tickets day of?

A: Yes, walk up tickets will be available at the ticket windows. However, you can save $15 on your GA tickets by purchasing ahead of time online. Note: Ticket sales close at 7 p.m. on the day of the show.


Q: Will there be a shuttle service?

A: The Moover will be operating throughout the valley as it normally would. Note: The last bus will leave Mount Snow at 10:30 p.m. Please plan ahead and be sure to have a designated driver.


Q: Where should I enter the resort?

A: Please enter the resort through our North Access Road.


Q: Where do I park?

A: All parking is free and on a first-come-first-served basis. Park as you would for a normal day of skiing or riding at Mount Snow.


Q: Can I tailgate in the parking lots?

A: Nope! Please take the party directly into the venue, or head up to The Bullwheel for great brews and amazing views!


Q: Will there be overnight camping? 

A: No, there will be no overnight camping in and around Mount Snow.


Q: What if it rains?

A: Then you’re gonna get wet, but seriously in the event of rain and non-severe weather, the festival will continue as planned. In the event of a severe weather event (including lightning, high winds, you know things worse than just some rain) we will inform everyone on where to seek shelter. The festival may be postponed until the weather passes with no refunds issued. Should severe weather be present in the area, we will advise you of where to head to ensure everyone gets to a safe shelter while the severe weather passes.


Q: Will lifts be running?

A: Yes, The Bluebird Express will be running for scenic rides, as well as the Canyon Express for mountain biking. Please remember that the festival venue has no remittance, so if you’d like to take a lift ride, please do so before entering the venue.


Q: Will lifts be open to the public?

A: Yes, The Bluebird Express will be running for scenic rides, as well as the Canyon Express for mountain biking with both lifts located outside of the festival venue.


Q: Will The Bullwheel be open to the public?

A: Yes, The Bullwheel will operate as it would on any other Saturday during the summer. Hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (weather permitting).


Q: Does my festival pass give me access to the lifts?

A: No, in order to ride the lifts you will need a separate lift ticket. These are available at Mount Snow Sports at The Grand .


Q: Do I get a festival discount with my Peak Pass?

A: Nope. While your Peak Pass does entitle you to great discounts at all our resorts all year long, this festival is not one of them.


Q: Will there be shows at The Carinthia Base Area? 

A: No, there will be no Rock the Roots Tour activity at The Carinthia Base Area.
