Multi-Sport Memorial Day!
Wednesday, May 24, 2017
For many, Memorial Day is the official kickoff of summer, and while the golf course opened a few weeks ago, we view this weekend as the official start of summer activities on and around our mountain.
While some look at this weekend and think that partaking in a single sport might suffice, some of the staff go the extra mile and opt for the annual tradition of the Mount Snow Trifecta, consisting of mountain biking, skiing, and golfing, all in one day.
Here’s how it’s done:
Wake up Saturday morning, and head to your early tee time at Mount Snow Golf Club for a quick round of 18. Pro Tip: Go for the cart if you want to keep on schedule, and then take advantage of the food and beverage cart to keep you fueled up for your day.
Next, it’s time to trade the clubs for planks. Grab your skis and head over to the base of Carinthia Parks for the annual Peace Pipe Jam. The Carinthia Diggers push all the leftover snow from the massive jumps in Inferno to make a hike-to plaza setup of boxes and rails for all abilities. Don’t ski park? Just ski around them!
Once you’ve had your fill of the snow, swap the planks for a downhill bike, and head to the Main Base Area. Hit up Ruben’s for a BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and then it’s time for the opening day at Mount Snow Bike Park. If you don’t own a bike, simply stop by Mount Snow Sports @ The Grand and pick up one from our brand new fleet of rental bikes. Never been downhilling before? No problem! Simply book an intro lesson with one of our guides.
Once that’s all done, cap the day all off with a frosty beverage and some farm to table treats at Harriman’s, and you’ll have officially completed the Mount Snow Trifecta.
The next day, sleep in, reminisce on a great start to the summer, and then treat yourself to the famous Sunday Brunch at Fairway’s!
Best of luck, I know you’re up to the challenge!
