Mount Snow Minute #16: Mardi Gras
Wednesday, February 27, 2019
February is ending on a high note with snow in the forecast tonight, which will make for great skiing and riding for the upcoming days. As we look ahead to March, we're getting excited about longer days of sunlight and a month of event-filled weekends, with live music every Saturday.
It all kicks off this weekend with our Bud Light Mardi Gras on Saturday, where we will be giving away 12,000 beads and Krewe Les Gras will take the stage outside Cuzzins from 12:30-4:00pm. The party continues that night with a show at the Snow Barn featuring Freekbass and The Bump Assembly, with tickets on sale online for $10.
Then on Sunday, we'll be hosting the Jack Jump World Championships on Charlie's Chase starting at 1:00pm. If you've never witnessed this crazy event, it's about time you do! A jack jump is nothing more than a seat attached to a single ski, and daring racers take these down a slalom course to get the fastest time. Needless to say, the talent and amazing crashes that come out of this event are one of a kind!
As we look at the forecast for the upcoming weekend, we're seeing sunny skies for Friday and more snow showers predicted for Saturday. Temperatures will be in a comfortable range before dropping a bit on Sunday, but fresh snow and forecasted sunshine will help to make it a beautiful day for the slopes.
Overall, it's looking like an ideal weekend to be here. So don't forget, you can save by purchasing your lift tickets online in advance or if you purchase for consecutive ski days.
It's time to round up your friends and head to the slopes for good times and even better skiing. I'll see you out there!
