Mount Snow Minute #14: Spring Events Abound
Wednesday, February 21, 2018
I don’t know what Mother Nature has been thinking over the past few days, and while it has been fun to get out there and enjoy some Spring laps, cold temperatures and more snowmaking are on the way as we head into the weekend.
These Spring conditions did have us all daydreaming about all the great events and festivals we have coming up for Spring at Mount Snow. Because, if there are two things we do well, it’s snowmaking and throwing parties!
It all kicks off on March 3 rd with the Samuel Adams Air & Après , an event that combines the thrill and technical skill of some of the best skiers and riders in the sport, alongside cutting-edge 3D projection mapping. Sam Adams Air & Après is an on-snow spectacular that has to be seen to be believed. Join us at Sundance Lodge for this free evening event, followed by DJ Logic at The Snow Barn.
Then on March 4 th , join us once again for the Jack Jump World Championships . Speed, great racing, fantastic crashes and a ton of fun make the Jack Jump World Championships a can't miss. So get your Jack Jump ready! If you have no clue what we’re even talking about, take a look at last year’s race .
For St. Patrick’s Weekend, we’re switching things up a bit this year, with a bluegrass spin on our Bud Light Shamrock Weekend . Join us for two days of bluegrass on the Cuzzins Deck, with night shows at The Snow Barn. Of course, we’ll still have all the old favorites as well, such as eggs and kegs in the morning, the annual Pot O' Gold scavenger hunt for a 18/19 Season Pass, and more! We’re also once again offering $17 lift tickets for St. Patty’s day, but supplies are limited, so be sure to purchase ahead online so you don’t miss out.
March 23 rd marks the return of everyone’s favorite Bud Light Reggaefest . This year it’s better than ever with The Original Wailers headlining on Saturday, and night shows by Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and Passafire at The Snow Barn! You’ll want to get your tickets early if you’re looking to head to the night shows because these tend to sell out quickly.
Reggaefest also marks the return of our Bud Light Sink or Skim pond skimming event on Saturday, March 24 th . As in previous years, we’ll be custom building a 100ft long pond for you to test your skills and level of commitment while trying to stay out of the icy waters and make it to the other side. Then on Sunday, put your creativity and engineering skills to the test with our Bud Light Duct Tape Derby . A Mount Snow signature event, The Duct Tape Derby has grown into one of the most fun and most unique competitions you'll ever witness (or be involved in).
You’d think that would be enough, but we’re just getting started. The following weekend on March 31 st we’ll be hosting our 10th Annual Winter Brewers Festival. This classic celebration of Spring, beer, and live music is not one to be missed. The next day it’s time to put your skills to the test on Ripcord for our annual Bud Light Glade-iator competition. This mix of a moguls comp meets freeskiing event, takes place on one of the steepest trails in The East, and it a great time for competitors and spectators alike.
Last, but certainly not least, Minus Zero Festival descends on Mount Snow April 6-8 th for three days of music, art, and celebration. Last year, a sold-out crowd of thousands hit the slopes and partied at Minus Zero which featured three stages of music featuring over 50 top international and emerging electronic music acts. This year they’ve got Zeds Dead and Odesza co-headling, and too many other names to list here. Head over to www.minuszerofestival.com for a full lineup, tickets, and lodging packages.
Wow, you don’t realize how much we’ve really got going on this Spring until you write it all down in one place. This Spring at Mount Snow is really going to be one for the record books!
See you out there.
