Mount Snow Minute #5: Holiday Events

Wednesday, December 20, 2017

It's an event-filled holiday season at Mount Snow!

Happy start to the holidays, from all of us here at Mount Snow. This year our presents came early, in the form of a brand spanking new snowmaking system and that storm last week that dumped 15” on us in just 24hrs. Now that we’re up to 66 trails and 400+ acres, life is good on the mountain and we’re ready to welcome you all for the holidays.

Carinthia skiers and riders also got an early holiday gift this season, as Benny and his crew of Carinthia Diggers opened five new parks in the span of seven days, including Nitro, The Farm, Prospector, Junkyard, and Grommet for all of you looking to get into terrain park skiing and riding. After all that, you’d think they’d kick back and take a break, but instead, they are back on the grind getting The Gulch ready to open before Christmas.

If you’re planning on joining us for the holidays, I’d recommend you take a moment and check out the list of holiday week music & activities to make sure you don’t miss out on a single one of the activities we have planned. A few highlights being Bearly Dead and Dead Grass kicking things off at The Snow Barn on December 22, and 23 respectively.  Then for the little groms out there, we have our first Grommet Jam of the season on December 27, followed by Mr. Twisty at The Snow Barn on the 28th.   New Year’s Eve is going to be one to remember, as we’ve got a slew of events, from our Torchlight Parade and Fireworks, to parties at The Snow Barn and The Grand Summit Hotel. There’s really too many to name them all here, so best to check out our full listing of events.

Looking forward to the weekend, the forecast is getting better and better. Every time I check my phone it seems that more and more inches of powder have been added to the predicted totals. Looks like we’re headed for a white Christmas around here thanks to Mother Nature, and I for one will be sure to take a few “test” runs to be sure it’s up to snuff.

See you all on the slopes!
