Mount Snow Minute #3: Powder Day
Wednesday, November 28, 2018
What a start to the week! If 15" overnight wasn't good enough, picking up another 6" was truly icing on the cake. While we were all eager to get out there and sample the goods, we awoke to a morning without power here at the mountain. Thankfully, the folks over at Green Mountain Power were able to get the lights back on and the lifts were spinning by 11 a.m. giving us access to all that snow.
With all this new snow, we've seen ropes dropping across the North Face, Main Face, and over in Carinthia, a trend which we hope to continue as we once again fire up the most powerful snowmaking system in the Northeast, starting next Wednesday night.
Over at Carinthia, there's been a flurry of activity both on-hill and down at the new base lodge. Up on the hill, we've seen The Gulch and Prospector open with features 32 between them, while Benny and the Carinthia Diggers have begun shaping and sculping Nitro ahead of its opening this weekend! More parks are planned to be added throughout December as we remind everyone why we're the #1 rated park in The East!
Down at the Carinthia Base Lodge, we opened the doors to the public this past Saturday and were thrilled to hear the responses you all had about the new amenities and High Timber Lounge. Going forward, we're going to have the lodge only open on weekends, so that during the week the guys can finish work on the second and third floors, including two additional eateries that are still to come. During this time, there will still be parking at Carinthia midweek, but no skier services or restrooms.
Looking into December, we have two important dates to mark on your calendar if you're a fan of deals. First up, Founders Day on Friday, December 14 th , where we'll be offering $12 lift tickets, if purchased online in advance. This is not only an amazing deal, but Founders Day has a history of being a powder day here at Mount Snow. Hopefully that tradition continues this year!
Next date on the calendar that you need to be aware of is December 17 th , which is when the prices on our season passes go up for the final time this year. This is also when our Drifter Pass, which offers 18-29-year-olds unlimited skiing and riding at 10 mountains across the Northeast for only $399, goes up in price. So, if you have any millennials in your life, or are one yourself, don't miss out on this unreal deal!
Well, that's enough from me. I'll let Kelsey take it from here. I'm off to sample the goods.
