Mount Snow Minute 19: Winter Brewers Festival, Golden Egg Hunt, and More!

So many spring festivals, events, and activities, it's hard to fit them all in one blog!

Spring has sprung at Mount Snow, and with it comes soft conditions, exciting events, and of course, spring festivals. The difference this year is thanks to all the snowfall in Miracle March, we’ve still got 100% of our terrain open for your skiing and riding pleasure. While I love a powder day as much as anyone else, there’s just something special about ripping around the mountain on a spring day. Whether it's finally stepping up to that kicker in Carinthia that you’ve been looking at all season, hammering spring bumps on Bear Trap, or just carving through the cream cheese, these are the days when your face hurts at the end due to all the smiling. I for one am looking forward to the next couple of weeks.

First and foremost though, we’ve been getting a bunch of questions about a closing date for the season. While we haven’t currently set one, we are planning on running 7 days a week through at least April 15 th and will be setting a firm closing date sometime in April.

Now, on to this weekend, our Annual Winter Brewers Festival returns for its 10 th installment on Saturday for a one-day celebration of spring. Once again we’ll be hosting breweries from around New England and great live music provided by the one and only Jeff Tuohy Band. It all takes place right in our Main Base Area and is not to be missed. For a list of breweries in attendance, check out the event listing here and start to plan your strategy for Saturday. The party then continues at The Snow Barn with an encore performance by Hailey Jane and The Primates at 9 pm. You may remember this them from when they blew the roof off of The Snow Barn over New Year’s Eve. We anticipate this show to sell out, so be sure to lock in your tickets in advance.

Also on Saturday, the gang from Ski The East will be on site in the Main Base Area, as we host a stop of their spring clothing drive. All day long they’ll be accepting donations of any gently used and clean winter gear, which we will then donate locally to help keep folks warm in snowy Vermont. Can’t make it on Saturday? We’ll be accepting donations at Guest Services from Thursday through Sunday of this week.

What’s better than one scavenger hunt? A weekend filled with scavenger hunts! Starting on Saturday when we’ll be hiding the front wheels of two cruiser bikes courtesy of Monster Energy somewhere around the mountain, and releasing clues on our social media channels. Find the front wheel and bring it down to guest services and we’ll hook you up with the rest of the bike! Then on Sunday, we’ll be hiding over 2,000 brightly colored eggs filled with candy all over the mountain, including one golden egg that’s good for a 2018/19 Peak Pass!

Speaking of spring festivals, can you believe we’re only a week away from our largest party of the season, Minus Zero Festival? This three-day celebration of music, art, and shredding is sure to be a wild experience unlike any other seen at Mount Snow. With headliners like Odesza and Zed’s Dead this is going to be one weekend that you won’t want to miss, so be sure to lock in your tickets today, and get ready to party! Wondering how the festival might or might not impact normal skiing and riding operations? Check out our blog at  mountsnow.com/minus-zero-faq

Well, I’m off to get in some spring laps. I’ll see you out there.
