Mount Snow Minute #15: Snowmaking & Upcoming Events

Wednesday, February 20, 2019

Join us for another weekend filled with live music and good times!

After a fantastic Presidents Weekend filled with sunshine and a little fresh snow, we're looking forward to another weekend of live music and great skiing! After 15" of snowfall in the last 8 days, we're enjoying amazing coverage across the mountain. But why not make it better? Mother Nature is setting us up the right temps, so our snowmakers will fire up the guns Friday morning, giving some love to Long John, Cascade, Canyon, Snowdance, Lower Exhibition, and Launch Pad. Because when Mother Nature doesn't provide the fresh stuff, our snowmakers will!

Meanwhile, we do have forecasted snow showers tonight with 3-5" expected, and only the tail end of that will turn mixed. For tomorrow, we see a little bit of sun and then even clearer skies on Friday. If I were you, I'd be starting my weekend as early as possible!

On Saturday, we'll have live music on Main Street from the OMG! Band. In addition, The Mount Gay Rum bar will be there, so swing on by to grab a frosty beverage and sit around a cozy fire.

In Iron Loft, we'll be hosting a special aprés event, called Stay to Stay, where you can enjoy food and drinks while mingling with residents and employers of Southern Vermont. If you've ever felt like you didn't want to return to reality after a ski trip to Mount Snow, this is the perfect event for you. Maybe you don't have to go back to reality, and you become a Vermonter instead! Life in the Green Mountains is one of a kind, and trust me, you won't miss that city traffic.

This weekend also features the Adaptive Sports Winterfest, which is a wonderful opportunity to ski or ride for a worthy cause. The Adaptive Sports program brings the love of winter sports to all, regardless of disability, and if you'd like to see these guys in action, check out our recent video from the Kids of Courage.

Lastly, March is on the horizon, which means a month full of live music and weekends packed with events. First up, we have our Bud Light Mardi Gras on March 2, where we will be giving out 12,000 beads in addition to a party on Main Street. The following day is our Jack Jump World Championships, so get your Jack Jumps ready! As we dive deeper into the month, we'll be hosting our Bud Light Shamrock Fest again with $17 lift tickets on Friday, March 15, available only online. The following weekend is our Bud Light Reggaefest, with tickets already on sale for the Reggaefest Snow Barn shows. Last but not least, make sure to get your tickets now for the 11th Annual Winter Brewers Festival, as early bird pricing ends March 6.

That's all for now, I'll see you this weekend!
