Mount Snow Minute #14: Snowmaking, Carinthia Freeski Open, and St. Patrick’s Day
Thursday, March 9, 2017
Well, I think we saw every possible type of weather this past week. Everything from prime snowmaking conditions last weekend and today, to warm, sunny spring laps mid-week. That being said, we’re fully back into winter today, as I watch snowflakes flutter past my window and see fan guns lighting up across the mountain.
We’re planning to continue making snow into the start of the weekend to resurface trails such as Exhibition, Snowdance, Long John, and Somerset Road. On top of this, our grooming team has been doing a fantastic job this past week, which has made for some great skiing conditions.
Heading into the weekend, we have the Carinthia Freeski Open with Pros and Ams coming from all over the US to compete for a piece of the $7,000 cash purse. We’ve also got some great shows over at Snow Barn including a two-night run from Cabinet who are fresh off of Winter Wondergrass out in Steamboat Springs. If you like bluegrass, these guys are not to be missed.
Looking further out, be sure and purchase your $17 lift tickets to ski on March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day, and then join us for a weekend full of concerts, after parties at Snow Barn, and much more .
See you on the slopes!
