Mount Snow's VIPs
Friday, April 1, 2016
This year we applauded the work of our snowmakers and groomers. Let's face it, without them there would have been no snow. Dozens, probably hundreds, of you have pulled me aside to say that our staff has done a fantastic job making "lemonade from lemons" and I couldn't agree more. We all greatly appreciate your feedback and often it was the fuel that kept us going. Along with the team who put the snow surfaces together, there are many more staff members who keep Mount Snow running and make it a very special place. As usual, I dedicate my last blog of the winter season to them. Meet a few of our staff members, true VIPs!

As Tom points out, we need branding irons so we can make a gigantic checker board.

No, this is not a photo from last year. This actually happened in January when our snowmakers went a little crazy in the base area and buried a magic carpet. Luckily, a bunch of ski school pros grabbed shovels and helped dig out.

Stella and Don celebrating another successful Crazy Hat Day.
Irene, Barbara and Dorrit ready for a sunny Reggaefest.
Unfortunately, this photo pretty much sums up the year. We would make snow, Mother Nature would unleash the hot rain, we would all cry and then the grooming department and snowmakers would put it back together again. Here you can see Dave on the phone, probably with a cat operator, asking, "did you manage to piece it together?"
Luckily, there is always a rainbow (double rainbows must be extra lucky) or snowstorm to look forward to. And that is what this group of positive and resilient staff, skiers and riders are doing....we are already making plans and looking forward to next year. Think snow my friends.
Thanks to everyone who shared photos for this blog. My only regret is that I could not get each and every staff member. I apologize if a few of the names are wrong.
