Greetings Freestylers!

 

We have a great season planned for you all and can not wait to get to work on guiding you all to success this winter.  I am including a first day of program checklist as well as 2 full comp schedules in this email.  We are planning a team meet and greet at the ski club on the 8th of December.  This event will be BYOB and include snacks, social and an informational present/Q&A with me and the coaching staff.  If you want to know a little about me click below.

  • We are fully staffing all of the USASA Southern Vermont Series events
  • You will see all freeskiing disciplines offered on the introductory schedule below.  
  • We will build the formal schedule once we have feedback parents and athletes about what disciplines you choose.

  • We are providing coaching at the following list of USSA B mogul events.
  • Big air, halfpipe and slopestyle are offered through USASA.
  • We will add/remove events based on demand, this is an introductory schedule of events that will be finalized after week 1.

CHECKLIST FOR OPENING DAY

 

  • Get your gear checked out and ready to go.
  • Does the helmet fit?
  • Are the goggles clean and able to provide good visibility?
  • Face masks, clean and dry.
  • All mountain twin tip skis are ideal for Devo Freestyle.
  • Boots should be comfortable and soft enough to flex the knee cap over the toe piece of the binding.
  • Be sure to have mittens and gloves and always send a set of hand warmers in the pocket.
  • Dress the children in warm layers based on the daily temps, have extras accessible.
  • Be sure to properly hydrate (with water) and feed them for performance.  (limit sugar, encourage high energy/high vibration food intake - fruits, veggies, nuts, proteins, healthy fats).
  • Give them more water - yes, I wrote that twice. - No not sugared energy drinks.
