All Mountain Devo 2.15-2.16.20

Wednesday, February 12, 2020

This past weekend:
All groups got some great time in practice race courses on Charlie's Chase.  The focus was when & where to turn in a race course, incorporating all the skiing fundamentals that have been worked on for the past few weeks: Pole Touches, Feet under the body....
Plans for this weekend:
Saturday : We will do some gate training on Charlie’s in preparation for Sunday’s Race, along with some All Mountain Skiing.

Sunday : We are scheduled for our Crazy Hat Contest and Valentine's Day Race.
Crazy Hat Contest judging will begin at 8:35 slope side of the Clock Tower Building.  Please initially meet at your normal group spot @ 8:30.  Groups will then all walk together, in front of the judges, on the clocktower deck.  Parents please make note of the earlier time & make sure your child(ren) is there by 8:30 am to participate.  Due to the holiday weekend, plan accordingly as parking & traffic may cause delays
Prizes will be awarded to 8 contestants for a variety of 'bests', as determined by our panel of judges.  Awards will be for individual entries only, no awards for group entries.
During the Judges review, a team photo will be taken.

Immediately following the Crazy Hat Contest Awards we will head up for the race.
It will take place on Charlie’s Chase Trail, in a Duel Giant Slalom (GS) course format.
The race will consist of one timed run for each child.  If a contestant falls or misses a gate they may go back up to the start and take a rerun.
Our goal is to make sure every competitor gets a good timed run.
Approximate start times will be available through your child's coach at the meeting area Sunday morning.
Parents and friends may watch the race from outside the finish fence.
***Note:  The Development Program will not run during President's Week (Monday - Friday).
