Alpine Comp 1.12 - 1.13.19

Hello Alpine Team,

Well best news this year… it’s SNOWING!! And a lot, the great-heavy-snow base-depth-building kind!!!! Thank you for all doing your snow dances last night!

I have had the chance to watch lots of the groups and something that all the groups need is more ankle flex. More ankle flex will allow for a better pole swing down the hill at turn completion. Please look over YouTube video below about the biomechanics of how the ankle should move in a ski boot. In the video the exercises are done barefoot and that will be helpful to see. You can do them barefoot and in ski boots. When doing in boots, buckle the boot normally then just pop open (or don’t snap down) the top two buckles. This will allow the ankle to bend so you can feel how the body has to move to bend the ankle. I’m happy to show anyone who in interested this weekend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rq7h8hX9M4c
