Hello Alpine Team,

Wow, I can’t believe how fast this season has gone by!  I am so proud of all the hard work and positive attitude this season from all the Athletes and Coaches, no matter the weather!  Ski racing is a sport that challenges you every day both mentally and physically, with weather and snow conditions to the toughness to train for a race. I’m so proud of you all for your efforts and dedication.

We have our Alpine Banquet at the Grand Summit this Saturday night and I look forward to seeing you all there.  If you don’t make it up this weekend, we will have your end of season gift in the office for you to pick up.

Skiing doesn’t have to be over for you until next year, just because winter is over. Skiing in the summer and fall is a great way to keep up with full-time academy programs. This is also a great way to increase your skiing days and keep your skiing skills sharp over the long break off-snow.  I really feel that Peak Performance Ski Camp’s coaching staff is in line with how we coach here at Mount Snow and highly recommend you look into this camp if you’re interested: https://peakperformancecamp.com/ .

This weekend with the chance of mixed precipitation, we will train SL both days and be on the lower mountain.  Athletes will ski stubbies, brushes and full gates both days.  Sunday we will set up the impossible SL and it will have lots of turns and gate types running the entire way down Ego.

I am placing a gear order with Rossignol and Nordica to have skis and bindings on site for me to help you pick out what you need for next season. We saw a big issue this year with some of the seasonal rental skis and the bindings releasing on race days. The ski and gear will be sold at a special race price and I will be around on Columbus Day weekend next October to help with fitting. If anyone has any questions about pricing or would like to talk about skis, I’m always available to help as well. I will reach out closer to October next year to remind you about this, but this is something to definitely take advantage of.

My door is always open through the off-season and I’ll be checking my email biweekly through the spring and summer. I always appreciate a nice ski email in the middle of a hot July, so feel free to reach out. Thank you all for another great season and giving me another reason to love my job.
