Choose sNOw Program Returns For 2017

Mount Snow, VT – Feb. 11, 2017 – Mount Snow is pleased to announce the return of its Choose sNOw program. Now in its fifth year, the program allows area youth in grades six through eleven to earn a 2017-2018 Mount Snow Season Pass, while learning about substance abuse prevention and engaging in community service.

Students attend two substance abuse prevention educational events, sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Community Partnership in collaboration with Mount Snow, and participate in a community Green-Up Day, in order to earn their pass.

The first Choose sNOw event will take place on  Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Grand Summit Hotel at Mount Snow, with registration from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. This event will feature youth motivational speaker and prevention specialist, Cara Filler, presenting about traffic safety, risk-taking, and peer pressure.

The second required event will take place on  Thursday, March 23, 2017  at 6:30 p.m., also at the Grand Summit Hotel. The guest speaker for the evening is motivational speaker, Harriet Turk, who inspires teens and adults to discover their true identities and pursue a life of substance. A make-up date is available in May at the Twin Valley Middle High School for participants not able to attend this presentation.

To take advantage of the Choose sNOw program, all students MUST register in advance and pay a fee of $50. Registration begins Thursday, February 16 at 10:00 a.m. at /the-mountain/choose-snow/ . Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with a limit of 250 spots. All passes will be mailed to the students in Fall 2017.
