The 19th Annual Mount Snow Oktoberfest

Mount Snow, VT. – Sept. 8, 2016 – Mount Snow is pleased to announce its 19th Annual Oktoberfest, which will be held this Columbus Day Weekend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 8–9, 2016. The Oktoberfest will feature plenty of beer, schnitzel and Oom-pah music, along with annual traditions, such as the ever-popular schnitzel toss.

The weekend kicks off with a running start Saturday morning at The 5th Annual Gulp and Gallop 5K. This fun race is designed for “athletic beer drinkers” featuring four laps around the base area, with racers downing a glass of beer between laps. What -started as a joke, has quickly turned into an event not to be missed, and even features a Kool Aid 1K race for the kids. Registration is available online, and check-in opens at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday with the race starting at 9 a.m.

In addition to traditional Oktoberfest staples, such as seasonal beer offerings from 25+ different German and domestic breweries and authentic German food, there will be plenty of games  and activates, such as a keg toss, yodeling contest and stein holding as well as a horseshoe tournament. This event has something for the whole family; complete with a Kid’s Zone where families can find festival games like beanbag toss, bouncy house, pumpkin painting and other kid-friendly activities.

With Oktoberfest normally corresponding with peak fall foliage season, The Bluebird Express will also be open each day of the festival for scenic rides to the summit, where additional German beer and snacks can be found at The Bullwheel .

For shoppers looking to get a jump on the holiday rush the 43rd Annual Harvest Arts & Crafts Show  will also be open in the Main Base Lodge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days of the Oktoberfest.
