Choose Snow

Welcome to Choose sNOw!  Mount Snow’s program for area youth to earn a 2016-2017 Mount Snow Season’s Pass by attending two substance abuse prevention educational events and performing community service by participating in Green-Up Day.  The Choose sNOw program is for any student currently in grades six through eleven.

The first Choose sNOw event will be on Wednesday, March 16, 2016.  Registration will be from 5:30pm to 6:00pm.  The program will begin at 6:00pm. This event MUST be attended by both student and a parent or legal guardian.  We ask that parents and children sit together for the presentation.

The guest speaker for the evening will be Kevin Brooks, a leading youth speaker on suicide prevention, impaired driving and overcoming obstacles. He is living proof that one poor choice can change one’s life forever, or even end it. Kevin shares the story of the night that changed his life forever.  Kevin left a party, driving at excessive speeds after consuming large amounts of alcohol. He was not alone. Beside him sat his passenger and childhood friend Brendan. The result-a horrific crash. Brendan didn’t walk away from the crash…. Neither did Kevin.  Kevin’s unique style of motivation inspires people to appreciate life in a profound new way, and in turn, make better, smarter, moment-to-moment decisions.

The second required event will be on Thursday, April 7, 2015 at 6:00pm. Only students are required to attend.  This event will feature Johan Khalilian, a product of Humboldt Park, Chicago, an area known for its gang violence and crime, Johan was able to move past the obstacles and traps that ensnared so many of his peers and live a life that is far from ordinary. His dreams, choices and determination transformed a ghetto kid into a national speaker who uses his life story to help people of all ages believe in the power of their dreams and the impact their life can make in the world around them.

A make-up date in May will be announced for participants that are not able to attend the April presentation.  The educational presentations are sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Community Partnership in collaboration with Mount Snow.

Once the student has completed both educational events and participation in Green-Up Day, they will receive a 2016-17 Mount Snow Season Pass valued at $700.  All passes will be mailed to the students in fall 2016.

To take advantage of the Choose sNOw program, all students MUST register in advance & pay a fee of $50.

Registration is now closed and all spots are sold out.

Registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with a limit of 250 spots.
