Mount Snow Ski & Snowboard School Staff Information
Thank you for your interest in working at the Mount Snow Ski and Snowboard School.
We combine a state-of-the-art facility, designated learning terrain, equipment and lifts with modern educational principles to take learning to new levels. We have a comprehensive, season-long training program that encourages the continued personal and professional development of our instructors. It starts with an introductory training session that is required for all Mount Snow instructors.
Many people tell us, "I'm a good skier, but I have never taught anyone before." That's OK; our introductory program will teach you all the basics. You will learn teaching methods and learning tricks by being coached by some of our best educators. During this course, you will get to know what it takes to become an instructor, not from a brochure, but from a real Ski or Snowboard Professional!
Our staff comes from all over the world! Last winter we had instructors from New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Ohio, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Not to mention a large international staff from Chile, Argentina, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Peru.

The ski and snowboard school offers many different programs. From children starting at the age of four to adults well into their eighties, we have a program for everyone. Most programs are based out of our state-of-the-art Discovery Center facility. Programs operate daily and positions are available in our core areas, as described below: Snow Camp This program teaches skiing to children 4-6 years old. This is a great opportunity to expose young children to a sport that we all love. Instructors must be able to relate to young children.
Mountain Camp & Mountain Riders This program teaches skiing and snowboarding to children 7-14 years old. Instructors must be able to relate to children. Children can ski or ride the entire mountain while under your care. .
Adult Program This program teaches skiing and snowboarding to guests, ages 13 and older. Instructors are responsible for the safety and fun of participants during group clinics. First-year instructors generally do not work in the Adult Program unless certifications are held. Learn to Ski/Learn to Ride This program utilizes our Guaranteed Learning Method (GLM) to coach the sport to first-timers age 13+. Special indoor areas and specialized equipment will help you deliver the best possible experience!
Ski and Snowboard Assistant (for 14 and 15 year olds) As an assistant, your duties will consist of helping instructors with groups of children learning to ski or ride. You may also help in other areas as needed such as serving lunch, watching kids indoors, helping kids on the lift and more. The assistant is an invaluable position, enabling us to better serve our guests. It also exposes 14 & 15 year olds to the world of instructing and the experience can be a great advantage when applying to become an instructor.
