Colby Dix has been performing in the Mount Snow area for years in a number of configurations. As a solo performer, his mix of alternative, indie, country and popular acoustic styles never fails to impress with his pedals and loops that give the impression of a full band. His duo 'The Middle Inch' with Peter Miles is a truly enjoyable pairing, mixing strong vocal harmonies and an awe-inspiring trade of guitar virtuosity.
A more upbeat ensemble, Colby Dix' 'Adapt' features his brother Trask and Jay Kenefic playing guitars and hand drums respectively. Their truly eclectic song selections and maddeningly original arrangements provide exciting entertainment that has become a year round local favorite.
Finally, 'Mister Dix' is the full on rock and roll band featuring Colby Dix on lead guitar and vocals, with Trask Dix on drums, bass player extraordinaire Jean Chaine, and multi-instrumentalist Jeff Mastroianni rounding out the group. These four put on a great show and are always having fun to be sure. This isn't just another resort band, this is a group of guys that truly enjoy themselves and the energy is infectious.
Add to all of that, Colby’s propensity to sit in with just about every other performing musician found in the area and he becomes hard to miss, but ever changing. He also performs in touring comedy troupe 'Touchpants' with Chris Friday. Jon Fishman of 'Phish' is a partner with Colby Dix in their renowned Vermont recording studio 'Northern Track', as Colby’s touch in the music industry is ever expanding.
